Merlin Woods FC & Sports Club - NOT USED Membership
Merlin Woods FC have established a properly constituted juvenile football club in the Doughiska, Roscam, Ardaun area of Galway City. We are positively enabling a club of inclusivity embracing all people and encouraging 50/50 participation by boys and girls, men and women. This initiative is the first of many steps Merlin Woods fc & Galway United will be promoting from soccer to athletics, tag rugby, basketball and other sports. Based on a European style sports club Galway United aim to reach out to many communities and engage, develop, and include all its people regardless of background, colour, ability, gender or age. Doughiska, Roscam, Ardaun Is a specific area in which we can transform the wellbeing of the children of the parish . Our newest parish has a new immigrant population that requires support to ensure its young people feel that they are part of Galway. Galway has a history of embracing cultures and has a reputation for being a welcoming friendly city. Students in the winter and tourists in the summer have long flocked to Galway over many generations. This dynamic has helped create the wonderful, diverse and welcoming community we are lucky to live in. Merlin Woods fc with the officers at the DRA resource centre Galway United and GUST aim to ensure that every child from whatever background grows up in the DRA area and feel very much part of the Galway community. The club would like to ensure that with the success of any Galway hurling, gaelic football, rugby, hockey, basketball or soccer team that the children of this unique part of Galway feel very much part of the efforts and success of these sports.
